MultiAntivirus is an open source antivirus/internet security suite for Microsoft Windows
MultiAntivirus has more than one software which scans files! In addition to an improved version of ClamAV, we have written a new scanning engine to intercept new and yet unknown threats (see point 2 for more details) and more antivirus engines may be added in the future. Using multiple scanning engines the probability of intercepting a virus increases, as the engines act in different ways from each other.
A feature that makes MultiAntivirus unique is the presence of a scanning engine designed and built for MultiAntivirus capable of identifying threats that are still unknown to the databases used by a classic antivirus. This precognitive engine is based on application’s behaviors and feedbacks. It operates at a higher and more abstract level than simply 'looking inside the file' for malicious codes.
Ransomware is a computer virus that prevents access to data until a ransom is paid. The first line of defense is represented by MultiAntivirus' antivirus scanning engines. But, to make sure you’ll be able to defend yourself against such malware, we've also made an alliance with one of the top NAS manufacturers in terms of security.
The result of this alliance is the opportunity to install a NAS with a high level of security specifically for backups which MultiAntivirus will handle automatically and which will can not be altered by ransomware.
This collaboration will allow MultiAntivirus users to benefit from the NAS software at no additional cost and can be installed on any computer that meets the minimum requirements.
In cases where there is a need to browse particularly virulent websites, MultiAntivirus includes an (optional) option of extreme sanitization of HTML/JavaScript code, removing anything that can bring a virus on your computer.
In addition, this mode can also be used for e-mail programs, through extensions, where allowed by the e-mail client.
Once an e-mail has been received, it is not forgotten. If there was a virus in it, unknown at the time, it will be recognized in the future as the virus that it is.
In addition to scanning incoming e-mails, MultiAntivirus can also scan e-mails received in the past and already present on the PC.
This penetrating control is made possible by extensions to the most commonly used e-mail programs (Office Outlook 2019 and Thunderbird).
With MultiAntivirus you can customize your antivirus according to what you use it for. The available profiles are for business use, gamer use and ordinary user use. Based on this choice, you can adjust some of the antivirus performance to suit your intended use, while still maintaining the highest possible level of protection.
